Sharon Steinberg, RN, MS, CS


Ms. Steinberg is a Lecturer in the Department of Ambulatory Care and Prevention and is a certified adult psychiatric and mental health clinical nurse specialist and educator. Ms. Steinberg has a clinical practice as a mental health consultant in the Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates Center for Fertility and Reproductive Health. She is also a clinician on the Harvard Vanguard Palliative Care Team. She was a Fellow in the Division of Medical Ethics at Harvard Medical School in 1997-1998 and a Faculty Scholar in the Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice at Harvard Medical School in 2003. In 2006 she completed an End-of-Life Education Consortium training program on Advancing End-of-Life Care. She is a Visiting Scholar at Boston College School of Nursing. As Director, Advanced Practice Clinician Teaching Programs, she facilitates clinical placements for advanced practice nurses and physician assistant students within Harvard Vanguard. She is co-director of the DACP/HVMA Behavioral Health Fellowship, a one-year interdisciplinary program for psychologists, psychiatric clinical nurse specialists and social workers. This fellowship provides fellows with the necessary background, knowledge, attitude and skills to practice within newer mental health care systems. Her interests include biomedical ethics, interdisciplinary professional practice and education, and health policy issues.
