Michael Klompas, MD, MPH, FRCPC

Michael Klompas is an infectious disease physician and associate hospital epidemiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. His research interests lie in novel applications of electronic health information to improve public health surveillance. Recent work has focused on electronic detection of communicable diseases in the community and ventilator-associated pneumonia within healthcare facilities. He directs the Electronic medical record Support Project (ESP) at Harvard Medical School, an effort to automate the detection and reporting of notifiable diseases to health departments via electronic medical record systems.
